You bring people together. We make sure they actually connect.

You curate every name on that list. But you can’t control who finds whom, who leaves early, or which conversations never happen.

Three things keeping you up at night.

The operational weight.

Registration in one tool, communications in another, seating charts in a spreadsheet. WhatsApp groups with 500 messages. Introductions that don’t scale. Every event rebuilt from scratch.

The experience gap.

Participants came for connection. Most stay in small talk. Cliques stick together. Introverts hover. VIPs get swarmed. The two people who should meet — ten feet apart — never find each other.

The measurement void.

Attendance and NPS. That’s all you have. Did the right connections form? Did anyone follow up? You can’t prove it to sponsors. You can’t justify the budget. You know your event creates value. You can’t show it.

How it works

Connection work happens before and after. In-person time is what it should be.

Porter handles outreach, discovery, preparation, and follow-up. Your participants get a personal experience. You get your time back.

Before

During

After

A conversation, not a form.

Porter meets participants where they are — on WhatsApp, in a casual conversation. No app to download, no profile to fill out.

What people are actually working on, not just titles.

WhatsApp 1:1

Direct connections, no group chaos.

Porter

Each participant gets a relationship agent that discovers connections, prepares both sides, and follows through.

Something to understand early

Porter works for your participants. That’s what makes it work for you.

Each Porter advocates for its person while operating within your community’s norms. Participants share honestly because they trust the system is on their side.

You see aggregate patterns and outcomes — which connections formed, what topics resonated, where the energy is. You don’t see individual conversations. That’s what produces the depth you’ve been trying to create manually.

What only Porter can do.

Prepare both sides.

Not just match. Both people know why this conversation matters and where to start.

Find the win-win.

Every connection requires genuine mutual value. When it’s not a fit—your Porter keeps exploring, revisits when timing changes.

Include everyone.

Introverts prepared. Newcomers connected to regulars. The person who’d never approach a VIP gets a warm intro with context.

Protect VIPs.

Three curated introductions, not forty “pick your brain” requests.

Measure what happened.

Which connections formed. What value was created—learning, collaboration, partnerships, friendships. Real proof.

Before Planta, I co-founded Mural — a platform that helped teams think together visually. We learned that when you redesign how people spend time together, everything changes: the quality of thinking, the speed of decisions, the relationships that form.

Planta applies the same idea to events and relationships. Every gathering has people who could change each other's trajectories — but the infrastructure to make those connections visible doesn't exist. I believe we can redesign how groups spend time together by building infrastructure that makes the communal intelligence of the room accessible to everyone in it.

These ideas draw from Collaborative Intelligence — a book about how groups think together.

Written before the AI boom, it explores how to design collaboration to improve team productivity — and how to maximize together time while doing individual work remotely. Planta is the next chapter: applying those ideas to how people connect.
